Communal Work to Plant Trees at APT Pranoto Airport, Samarinda
Samarinda (B2P2EHD, 16/5/2018). To realize the Kaltim Green, the East Kalimantan Forestry Agency initited the activity “Let’s Plant Tress Together”, last Tuesday (15/5). R&D Center for Dipterocarps Forest Ecosystem (B2P2EHD) Samarinda participated in the event held in Aji Pangeran Tumenggung Pranoto Airport, the new airport of Samarinda City.

ORC Forest Ranger Evacuated Batik Python Snake from Balitek KSDA Arboretum
Balitek KSDA (Samboja, 15/5/2018). Last Thursday night (10/5), the security team conducting patrol in Orangutan Research Center was surprised to find a batik python snake (Python reticulatus) near the orangutan quarantine cage at the Balitek KSDA Arboretum. Even with limited equipment and in the dark of the night, finally with the help of several people, the snake can be evacuated.

UNIMED Students Researcher Trigona Honey Bees at Aek Nauli
BP2LHK Aek Nauli (Aek Nauli, 14/5/2018). Interested in researching the trigone honey bees, Setia Prayudi and some of his friends, all students of Biology Student, Faculty of Mathematics and Science (FMIPA), Medan University (Unimed), visited BP2LHK Aek Nauli last Monday (7/5). Setia explained that his visit is to collect data on the brix water and baume content quality determiner on Trigone honey spp.

XVI Meet-up of East Kalimantan Nature Lover Held at Balitek KSDA
Balitek KSDA (Samboja, 6/5/2018). R&D Center for Natural Conservation Technology (Balitek KSDA) received a visit from nature lover of East Kalimantan last Friday (4/5). They were the participants of XVI Meet-up of East Kalimantan Nature Lover held by Nature Lover Union of Balikpapan Polytechnic held for three days on May 4-6, 2018.

A team from Human Resources Training Center Environment and Forestry (Pusdiklat SDM LHK) visited R&D Center of Environment and Forestry (BP2LHK) Aek Nauli, last Tuesday (8/5) to evaluate and see the progress of the edutaintment program directly in the field at KHDTK Aek Nauli as previously proposed and presented by training participants during the last PIM III KLHK. Workshop on Strengthening Strategic Issues to Formulate Balitek KSDA Strategic Plan
Balitek KSDA (Samboja, 14/5/2018). As a follow-up to the Workshop on Identifying Strategic Issues with the NGOs and the Private Sectors, last Thursday (3/5), R&D Center for Natural Resources Conservation Technology (Balitek KSDA) held a Workshop on Strengthening Strategic Issues to Formulate Strategic Plan (Renstra) by inviting the parties from the government and the academicians.

Good and Economical, Mengkudu Extract was Used on Rubber Clotting in HTR Area
P3SEKPI (Bogor, 14/5/2018). In the study of social dimension analysis on the Community Forest (HTR) area, the Community Based Commercial Forestry (CBCF) research team visited Budi Lestari Village, of which the entire housing and area are a part of HTR utilized by its inhabitants. Study revealed that mengkudu extract is a good and economical to be used in rubber clotting.

Examining Pine and Dipterocarpaceae, USU Students Take Samples at Aek Nauli KHDTK
BP2LHK Aek Nauli (Aek Nauli, 9/5/2018)_Jumat (4/5), Nur Indah Lestari, a Forestry Student from North Sumatera University (USU) and some friends visited the R&D Center for the Environment and Forestry (BP2LHK) Aek Nauli to collect research samples that they are conducting for their final thesis, to learn about the polyisoprenoid content on pines and dipterocarps.

Balitek DAS Archivist Awarded 2018 KLHK “Best Archivist”
Balitek DAS (Solo, 11/5/2018). After its researchers were awarded “Best Presenter” in the category of National Seminar on the 5th Annual Scientific Meeting of Disaster Research a while ago, R&D Center for Watershed Management (Balitek DAS) received another great news. Alfu Mahar Syarofi, an archivist of Balitek DAS was awarded “Best Archivist” in 2018 by the Minister of Environment and Forestry (KLHK).
