Pesantren Al-Hasyimiah Tebing Tinggi Camped Out at BP2LHK Aek Nauli
BP2LHK Aek Nauli (Aek Nauli, 15/01/2018). The Pesantren Al-Hasyimiah Scouts from Tebing Tinggi camped out in Arboretum KHDTK Aek Nauli. Themed "Devout, Discipline, Loyal, Happy, and Companionship" the event was held on January 11-14, 2018. Attended by 400 Penggalang and Penegak Scouts, the event was also held to improve their basic skills.

BP2LHK Manado (Manado, 10/01/2018). BLI should be able offer smart innovation, not only for KLHK but also for the community. That’s the message from BLI-KLHK Head, Dr. Ir. Agus Justianto, MSc to all employees of BP2LHK Manado during his visit on Wednesday (10/01). Accompanied by BLI-KLHK Secretary, P3KLL Head, and Puslitbang Hutan Head, Agus also stated the vital role of R&D for KLHK in making strategic decisions. “BLI should have a policy impact for KLHK through research development,” he added.

Turning Wood Waste from Peat Swamp Forests After the Fire into Charcoal Compost and Wood Vinegar
BP2LHK Banjarbaru (Banjarbaru, 15/01/2018). After the 2015 fire, the peat swamp forest in KHDTK Tumbang Nusa was left with tons of wood waste. In order to reduce the waste as well as to minimize another threat of fire, BP2LHK Banjarbaru researchers; Riswan Ariani, Rudi Supriadi, and Purwanto Budi Santosa are treating the waste into charcoal and wood.

Minister of Environment and Forestry, Siti Nurbaya, and member of Presidential Advisory Council, Jan Darmadi, accompanied by Vice Governor of North Sulawesi, Steven Kandow, visited the Anoa Breeding Centre (ABC) – BP2LHK Manado to name the baby Anoa born in the facility last Wednesday (08/11/2017). Comparative Study, A Belgian Bee Observer Visitied BP2TSTH Kuok
BP2TSTH (Kuok, 10/01/2018). With information gathered from the internet, Prof. Irwan Effendi, former Forestry Agency of Riau Province and his entourage visited BP2TSTH Kuok during his trip to PLTA Koto Panjang, Rabu (10/01). Accompanying him, are Ferdinand H.P. Wouda from the Netherlands and Huygmebaert Bram, a Belgian bee observer. They visited BP2TSTH Kuok for a comparative study and to gather information on bee cultivation.
