Potential of Hapundung as a Source of Food and Rehabilitation Plants in North Sumatra
Hapundung (Baccaurea racemosa) is a native fruit plant to Southeast Asia, which is widely available in North Sumatra. At first glance, the hapundung fruit resembles duku. The main difference between hapundung and duku lies in the color of the pulp and the taste. Hapundung has transparent and slightly reddish flesh, with a thinner and slippery texture, and has a strong sour taste (Subagio, 2019).

Two Strategies to Achieve Sustainable Productive Peatlands
To support the Ministry of Environment and Forestry's (MoEF) food estate on peatland agenda, the Research, Development and Innovation Agency (FORDA) together with partners from universities recommend two main strategies. These two strategies, if implemented in an integrated manner, are believed to be able to contribute to the peat ecosystem restoration program, it hence will be able to create sustainable productive peatlands.

RePeat with Pegadaian Go Green
The RePeat (Rehabilitation of Peatland) program that was developed by the the Research and Development Center for Environment and Forestry Banjarbaru has again inspired various parties to voluntarily plant on peatlands for rehabilitation. One of them is PT. Pegadaian Persero Kalimantan Tengah which supported RePeat at the end of 2020, last Sunday (20/12/2020).

Uji Tingkat Kebisingan Lokasi Forest Healing di KHDTK Aek Nauli
Kawasan Hutan Dengan Tujuan Khusus (KHDTK) Aek Nauli berpotensi dalam pengembangan konsep Forest Healing. Hasil evaluasi awal ujicoba forest healing di sana, kegiatan berjalan di hutan dapat menurunkan hormon kortisol yang merupakan hasil kimiawi dari stres pada tubuh. Selain suasana hutan yang alami, salah satu faktor yang diduga berpengaruh bagi kesehatan adalah tingkat kebisingan.

Inovasi Pellet Benih dari Limbah Serasah untuk Mendukung Program RHL
Pembuatan pellet benih dari limbah atau biomassa serasah yang terdapat di sekitar arboretum kantor yang luasnya mencapai 9 Ha, merupakan salah satu upaya yang dilakukan BP2TSTH Kuok dalam meningkatkan keberhasilan program rehabilitasi lahan dan hutan. Pellet benih dapat menyediakan kebutuhan kelembaban/air dan hara pada fase awal proses perkecambahan hingga tumbuh berkembang di lapangan.
