“Anoa Goes to School” Collaborates to Succeed the Early Conservation Education
BP2LHK MANADO (Bolaang Mongondow, Desember 2018). Anoa Goes to School, one of the education program on the endemic Sulawesi animal, driven by Anoa Breeding Centre (ABC) R&D Center for Environment and Forestry (BP2LHK) Manado. Collaborating with various conservation partners, Anoa Goes to School is held to aim the community, especially school children, to introduce conservation since early age.

BP2LHK Banjarbaru Supports Land Rehabilitation in Central Kalimantan
BP2LHK_Banjarbaru (Banjarbaru, Desember 2018). The problem of critical land is an inter-sectoral issue, based on the 2018 map of critical land from the Directorate of Planning and Evaluation of Watershed Control (PEPDAS), the size of critical land in Indonesia until 2018 reached 14.006.450 hectare. The cause is so complex and there is no instant way nor short term fix to handle the issue.

Initiating Village Rule “Sustainable Management of Society Forest” in Malleleng Village, Bulukumba
BP2LHK Makassar (Makassar, Desember 2018). A research team from Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research (ACIAR) – and R&D Center for Environment and Forestry (BP2LHK) Makassar, last Thursday (6/12/2018) held a discussion for draft 2 of Village Rules at Malleleng Village, Kajang Sub-district, Bulukumba District, aim to discuss the draft with all of the related institutions in Bulukumba District as well as handing over the draft to Malleleng Village Head for further process.

Introducing Vegetative Propagation Technique, BP2TSTH and BSPTH West Sumatra Hosted Technical Assistance for Farmers Group and Forest Extension Agents
BP2TSTH (Kuok, Desember 2018). R& Center for Forest Fiber Plants (BP2TSTH) Kuok in cooperation with Office of Certification and Seedlings of Forest Plants (BSPTH) West Sumatra Province hosted a technical assistance (Bimtek) for 80 members of farmers group and forest extension agents. The two days Bimtek held on November 29-30, 2018 was meant to introduce vegetative propagation technique to the farmers, who mostly are actors of social forestry.

Again, Herpetologer Mania Community is Herping at KHDTK Aek Nauli
BP2LHK Aek Nauli (Aek Nauli, Desember 2018). Herpetologer Mania Community is once again conducting exploration (herping) for amphibious and reptiles (herpetofauna) at Forest Area with Special Purpose (KHDTK) Aek Nauli, from December 1 – 4, 2018. The exploration is conducted by four members of Herpetologer Mania and a researcher from Yayasan Ekosistem Lestari (YEL) on three locations at KHDTK Aek Nauli as a follow-up of the first exploration last March 2018.

Reflecting on Watershed Management in Indonesia
Balitek DAS (Surakarta, Desember 2018). We should admit that there are many problems on Watershed management in Indonesia. Therefore, the making of correct work plan/ watershed management platform is required. However, the said platform is not necessarily to be in uniform as each watershed is having their own unique characteristics.

Planning out 2019 Activities, BPDASHL Kahayan Study Visit to Balitek DAS

Led directly by its Head, employees of Watershed and Protected Forest Management Body (BPDASHL) Kahayan conduct study visit to R&D Center for Watershed Management Technology (Balitek DAS) Solo, last Thursday (15/11). This is done to support the 2019 planning for BPDASHL Kahayan.

Suggested that all institutions, especially R&D institutions, are better making business process to learn about their positions now and making it easy to plan forward.
